October Spotlight

Instead of showing my top five favorite fonts or a project I am currently working on, I thought it would be fun to bring a new series to the blog. Every month I am going to pick a product that has swoon worthy branding, try it for myself, and review it. Let’s see if it’s just aesthetically pleasing or if it really is a must-have.

I was originally drawn to Summer Fridays by their content and branding. Let’s be honest, it was love at first sight when I found their IG feed.

There is something so special about an all text logo — clean and timeless.. and the color palette is perfection. Although I usually gravitate towards a neutral palette, these colors are the best on the color wheel (not pastel and not vibrant). The price-point is a bit high for a non-professional brand, but the ingredients are clean and effective — while looking beautiful on your countertop.

LIP BUTTER BALM: This silky, 100% vegan lip mask hydrates and soothes parched lips in seconds. Butter up on the go for instant moisture and shine, or at bedtime for a nourishing overnight mask.

I have been a longtime lover of Kopari Lip Glossy — I’m talking have one in every room type of obsessed… and then came the Lip Butter and it changed everything.

I will say, I did start with the original packaging tube which I did not love (kind of messy), but I LOVE that they listened to customer feedback and made changes. This balm really does give instant moisture and is completely clean so that I can feel comfortable kissing my baby and him not having a reaction from it. I do not wear much color on my lips for everyday life, but their new Vanilla Beige is the perfect in between to give your lips subtle hint of color. Overall - this gets a 10/10 in my book.

CC ME VITAMIN C SERUM: A super-potent Vitamin C and Niacinamide serum that helps brighten, improve skin tone and texture, and reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

I started using this product when I found out I was pregnant. I quickly made the much needed switch to all clean beauty. I was nervous that because this product was clean it would not pack a punch — especially because I was starting to get pregnancy hyperpigmentation. It took awhile to notice any effects from using this product, as with other brands, but it does leave your skin looking glowy and quenched (and smells pretty good — not like the hotdog water I used to use IYKYK). After a few weeks I noticed some discoloration starting to fade which was amazing! Although it’s not a miracle worker (if you find one, please let me know) I truly believe this product helped eliminate future hyperpigmentation. The bottle seems small, but it lasts a good amount of time. I am now on my 3rd bottle and don’t see myself changing anytime soon. To top it off, I love that you can recycle your empties as well.

I will be sure to review more Summer Fridays products in the future because the design and effectiveness is amazing… it’s not just aesthetically pleasing.
